Author of several textbooks and articles, a teaching consultant and co-founder of our school, a conference speaker and member of international organisations for teachers. Our energiser, who walks into the school and hands out ‘fucking hells’ to everyone from the moment she steps through the door — to both the team and the students.

As calm as a boa constrictor. She won’t, of course, ‘strangle’ a student who makes a mistake, but she won’t let them off the hook until she is sure they have successfully ‘digested’ English grammar. She also teaches listening comprehension.

At first glance, she is the sweetest and friendliest teacher. But as soon as the classroom door closes for her lesson, she tucks her kindness away in a cupboard at the back — and the survival marathon begins.

Olya teaches two subjects: grammar and listening. In grammar lessons, she teaches the strict rules of English, whilst in listening lessons she teaches how to break them.

A teacher with a background in sport. She is convinced that in learning, just as in sport, discipline, motivation and healthy competition are what matter most. Her morning begins by checking your audio recordings.

She’s methodical, organised and doesn’t shy away from stress. But she loves to put you through your paces with listening and grammar stress tests. She’ll organise the grammar rules neatly in your mind.

Ira is a listening skills teacher. In her spare time, when she’s not marking tests, she teaches dancing, so she can immediately tell when a student is off-beat or using the wrong intonation.

A teacher who’ll break down the subject matter into bite-sized chunks and ensure you’ll remember it for ages to come. She’s always friendly and smiling, but she’ll give you a mark with that very same smile if you haven’t done your homework.

Co-founder of Hotspot School of English, owner and creative director of the advertising agency Arriba!, and lecturer at the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School. He is responsible for the school’s marketing, strategy and design.

A manager who always has her finger on the pulse — or, more precisely, on her phone. She is able to respond to messages and calls with her eyes closed, at any time and in the most unusual situations.

Hotspot’s designer. Everything — from signage to banners — passes through his mind and hands. His arrival marked the beginning of the school’s design renaissance.
